RAYMOND STEVE OPPERMAN SR. "POPS" HAMMOND, IN Raymond Steve Opperman Sr. "Pops", age 70, of Hammond, passed away peacefully, Thursday April 21, 2011, with his family by his side. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Anna; children: Raymond Jr. (Karen), of Cedar Lake; Annette (Marko) Tomich, of Hebron; Timothy (Doris), of Calumet Township; Veronica (Shawn) Braden, of Rensselaer; Deborah Opperman, of Hammond; grandchildren: Crystal (Jim), Raymond III, Shelly (Jerry) Watson Jr., T.J., Savannah, Erick, Sandra (Steven), Brittany, Melody, Wyatt, Jerry III, Jimmy; great grandchildren Lilly, Samantha, Baylee; and many good friends. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lisa, brothers Charlie and Cook (Sandy). Services were private and entrusted to Solan Pruzin Funeral Home. Donations may be sent to the family c/o Solan Pruzin 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond, IN 46324. Raymond enjoyed going to Flea Markets, garage sales and traveling with his dear wife. He was formerly employed at Junior Toy for 10 years, Lake Harbor Vendors for 30 years and retired from the City of Hammond with 15 years of service. Raymond always cared and helped many people throughout his life.
