RICHARD A. ADLER MERRILLVILLE, IN Richard A. Adler, age 84 of Merrillville, IN, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point, IN. Richard is survived by his seven children: Bev Adler, Marilyn Adler, Terence (Matyt) Adler, Gloria (late Roger) Runk, Kenneth (Carrie) Adler, Rose Marie (Mondo) Vargas and Glenn (Cami) Adler; 20 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters: Edith Trevisol and Ruth (Spud) Schwanke; brothers: Edward (Katie) Adler, James (Sharon) Adler and Joseph Adler; sister- in-law, Karen Adler; and numerous nieces and nephews. Rich was preceded in death by his wife, Valentina; granddaughters: Holly Cimesa Adler and Michelle Adler; sisters: Margaret Scheidt and Florence Windbigler; and brother, Robert Adler. Rich was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church in Merrillville, IN. He retired from Swift-Eckrich. Rich was a former member of the Merrillville Lions Club. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 22, 2013 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave. (two Blocks East of Broadway) Crown Point, IN. Prayer service will be held at 6:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 801 W. 73rd Ave., Merrillville, IN with Rev. Brian Chadwick officiating. Entombment will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. Memorial donations may be given to United Leukodystrophy Foundation or St. Andrew the Apostle Church.
