ROSA N. GREGORCZYK (NEE CARDENAS) CROWN POINT, IN Rosa N. Gregorczyk (nee Cardenas), age 58 of Crown Point, IN, formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at VNA Hospice in Valparaiso, IN. Rosa is survived by her two daughters: Catherine (Thomas) Biller and Regina (Christopher) Martinez; granddaughter-to-be, Olivia Hope Martinez; mother, Maria Cardenas; sister, Maria (Daniel) McGrory; husband, Richard Gregorczyk; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Carlos Cardenas Sr.; and her brother, Carlos Cardenas Jr. Rosa was Valedictorian of East Chicago Roosevelt High School Class of 1972 and graduated from Purdue University Calumet with a degree in Nursing. She was a loving nurse, working with the Community Healthcare System and Care Pharmaceuticals. She was a poet and teacher and loved to express herself through her cross-stitching. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and an amazing friend, daughter, sister, and aunt. She fought until her last day and considered her daughters, and the people they became and grew into, to be her greatest achievement. Rosa was "the queen of terms of endearment", an awesome person who always put others ahead of herself and touched many lives. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre, (two blocks east of Broadway) at 606 E. 113th Ave./E. South St., Crown Point, IN from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 directly at Holy Name Catholic Church, 11000 W. 133rd Ave., Cedar Lake, IN from 9:30 AM until time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with Rev. Edward Tlucek officiating. Interment at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville, IN.
