Roy Raymond "Ronnie" Redman, 66, of LaPorte, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013 in LaPorte. He was born December 20, 1946 in Chicago, IL to Harold and Gladys (Slavin) Redman. On May 29, 1971 in South Wanatah, Roy married Linda Hayes who survives. Also surviving are: his daughter, Kathy (Tye) Cambe of LaPorte; grandson, Tyler; sisters: Joyce (Gregory) Petrin of Tucson, AZ and Kari (Mark) Masters of Cincinnati, OH; loving family members: John Hayes and Janet Fox of Kouts, and Brenda (John) Counter of Ft. Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Ronnie was a heavy equipment operator for INDOT for approximately 38 years. He was a member of S.A.S.S. (Single Action Shooting Society) and the Kankakee Valley 4-Wheel Drive Club, a former Boy Scout Leader, a retired LaPorte County 4-H Leader, and was actively involved with war reinactments. Ronnie was also a "Big Brother" to many. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Newhard Funeral Home, 58 W. Walnut Street, Westville, IN with Rev. Ian J. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
