BENNY L. HINSHAW "BIG BEN" HIGHLAND, IN Benny L. Hinshaw, age 53, of Highland, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2009. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Valerie (nee McCarty); three children: Samantha (nee Boyan) (Mike) Torres of Lithia, FL, Benny (extended family: Sue, Kelly and Heather) Hinshaw, Jr. of Highland, IN and Melissa Hinshaw of Highland, IN; two grandchildren: Trisha and Marissa Torres both of Lithia, FL; two brothers: George Hinshaw of Huntland, TN and Danny (Patti) Hinshaw of Lake Station, IN; two sisters: Betty (Paul) Cox of Maricopa, AZ and Kathy (Reyes) Barrera of Abilene, TX; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins; and his little buddy, Cameron. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN with Rev. Robert Raschka officiating. Cremation to follow services. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Kuiper Funeral Home. Mr. Hinshaw was currently employed with the Sara Lee Co. in Highland, IN with 10 years of service. He was also a member of the Teamsters Local #142 of Gary, IN.
