HELEN LOUISE BAKER (NEE DUKES) HAMMOND, IN Helen Louise Baker (nee Dukes), age 85, of Hammond, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 14, 2012. She is survived by her four children: Carolyn Coleman of Lyons, CO, James R. (Betty) Baker of Griffith, Jerald (Lillian) Baker of Tucson, AZ and Joni (Tom) Moore of Cincinnati, OH; seven grandchildren: Kris Anderson, Sheryl Anderson, Becki (Keith) Bruner, Amy (Ross) VeNard, Kandi Baker, Jeff Baker and Kara (Bruce) Weyhe; and thirteen great grandchildren. Also surviving is her brother, Bob Dukes; sister, Pat (Cort) Mack of Nashville, TN; and sister, Recie (Sam) Hankins of Morgantown, KY; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by James J., her loving husband of 65 years; and her grandson, Tommy Moore. Helen lived a life dedicated to her family, and enjoyed her grandchildren, as well as cooking, cleaning, sewing and quilting. She attended the Griffith Free Methodist Church until her health declined. Helen will be greatly missed by all those who knew her, but we are rejoicing that she is finally healed and with the Lord. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road (two blocks south of Ridge Road), Highland, IN with Pastor Rob Lemon of Griffith Baptist Church officiating.
