Elmer J. Moeller, 85 passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Cumberland Hospital. He was born on November 13, 1927 in Lansing, IL to Aloys and Matilda Moeller. He married Janet Gaynor on September 16, 1950. Elmer served honorably in the U.S. Army 1946-1947. He worked at Nagel Packing, then in 1961, purchased Moeller Lanes, which he owned for 33 years. Mr. Moeller was a member of the Lansing Kiwanis, serving as President in 1973-1974. He was a founding member of the Lansing Copper Muggers Club which started at Moeller Lanes. He was a lifelong member of the VFW. Elmer enjoyed fishing, playing cards, traveling, visiting the local casinos, and taking an annual trip to Las Vegas. Among those who survive and were blessed to have him in their lives are: his loving wife of 62 years, Janet; six children: Deborah (Carl) Freeman of Sherman, IL; Denise Schneider of Rhinelander, WI; Kerry Moeller (friend JoEllen Brugman) of Eden Prairie, MN; Bruce Moeller of Danbury, WI; Patsy Moeller (friend Finn Niemi) of Lake Tomahawk, WI; and Nancy Brandt of Munster, IN; grandchildren: Janet Freeman and Scott Petersen of Round Lake Park, IL; Clinton (Catherine) Freeman of Tampa, FL; Kristin (Donald) Fleming of East Bethel, MN; Susan Schneider of Williston, ND; and Henry Brandt of Munster, IN; great grandchildren: Alexandria Freeman and Arabella Fleming of East Bethel, MN; Samuel and Isabella Freeman of Tampa, FL; his sister, Ciel Bricco of Lansing, IL; many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a very good friend, Jerry Fezler of Sauk Village, IL. He is loved and will be missed by all. Preceded in death by his parents: Aloys and Matilda Moeller; five brothers; and three sisters. A celebration of Elmer's Life will be held at Dahl Funeral Home in Spooner, WI on Saturday, June 22, 2013 from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. Funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Fr. Ed Anderson as Celebrant. We wish him well in his next journey. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
