CAROL S. BYRD (NEE KENDER) LOWELL, IN Carol S. Byrd (nee Kender) age 73, of Lowell passed away Monday, September 23, 2013. She is survived by husband, Dorsey; four children: Laura (Don) Wilson, Suzanne Smith, Nanette (Tim) Post, and David Byrd; fourteen grandchildren; two brothers: Richard (Barb) Kender and Ken (Laurie) Kender; sister in law, Betty Kender; and many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by brother, Elmer. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Bethel Church of Cedar Lake (13620 Wicker Avenue), officiated by Pastor Gary Butler. Burial will take place at Leaf River Cemetery in Mississippi. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Kuiper Funeral Home, 9039 Kleinman Road, Highland. Carol loved to play the organ for church services and weddings, and enjoyed music. She enjoyed bowling, and was the secretary of “Double II Bowling” of the Greater Calumet Area.
