EDWARD M. KRYGIER "MR. K" CROWN POINT, IN Edward M. Krygier, age 78, of Crown Point, passed away peacefully at his home on January 31, 2014. Edward was born October 25, 1935 in East Chicago, IN to the late Edward Aloysius and Anne K. (Sambor) Krygier-Rueth. Ed is survived by three sons: Edward (Kalahni) Krygier of St. John, IN, Eric (Amy) Krygier of Dyer, and Alan (Debbie Levine) Krygier of Crown Point; grandchildren: Jade, Jordyn, Eddie, Ayla, Alexa (Greg), Chloe, Peyton, and Ryan; and a great grandchild, Brayden. Also surviving is his sister, Loretta Suty of Schererville; nieces and nephews: Michael and Marilyn Suty and Kim Suroviak; and his former spouse, Diana Boskovich of St. John, IN. “Mr. K” was a 1953 graduate of Bishop Noll High School. He then selflessly served in the US Army, being stationed in Korea. After his enlistment he served on the East Chicago Fire Department as a fireman, chauffer, captain and assistant chief for over 22 years. After his retirement in 1984 he became a courier for Fed Ex for the next 10 years. He was a faithful member of St. James (The Less) Catholic Church of Highland. He loved fishing, golfing, and a good political debate. Edward especially treasured the time spent with his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James (The Less) Catholic Church (9640 Kennedy Ave., Highland, IN 46322) with Rev. Keith M. Virus officiating.
