David N. Tapper, age 65, of Lake Station, IN passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2014. David is survived by his wife, JoAnne; five children: Steven Hampton of Iowa, Philip (Michelle) of Westville, IN, Kimberly (Kevin) Krikau of Schererville, IN, Rachel (David) Sissman of Lake Station, IN, and Dawn (Greg) Berger of Indianapolis, IN; seven grandchildren: Alexandra, Kaitlyn, Joey, Amara, Ryley, Mason, and Aiden; one brother, Anton (Sharon) Tapper of Florida; and faithful companion and best friend, CiCi. Preceded in death by his parents: Anton E. and Nell Tapper; and sister, Dolly Tapper. David was a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran. He was a longtime employee of Coca Cola and a member of the American Legion Fred Schmidt Post #20 in Crown Point, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 7, 2014 at Geisen Funeral and Cremation Services, 7905 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410 from 2:00 to 8:00 PM with additional visitation on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 9:00 AM until time of funeral service at 10:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 5375 Harrison St., Merrillville, IN with Pastor Carolyn Heider officiating.
