Donald Robert Fiedler, 65, of Valparaiso passed away Tuesday February 11, 2014. He was born to the late Joseph and Ruby (Foster) Fiedler, March 16, 1948 in Denver, CO.  Don grew up in Evergreen Park, IL where he graduated from Evergreen Park Community High School in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1970 in the Signal Corps stationed in Africa.  Don worked at G.T.E./Verizon telephone company in Valparaiso for over 30 years before he retired.  Don was an amazing son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who is loved by all and will be missed greatly forever. Don was always eager to be involved in his grandchildren’s activities and lives. Don is survived by five children: Jason Fiedler of Hainesville, IL, Greg Fiedler of Wanatah, IN, Amanda Watson of Porter, IN, Jennifer Zahm, and Kelly Fiedler of Valparaiso.  He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; and five siblings; Joanne, Steve, Beth, Cathy, and Tom.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso, IN.
