JEAN D. PEDERSEN (NEE FANNING) CEDAR LAKE, IN Jean Dorothy Pedersen (nee Fanning), age 85, of Cedar Lake passed away Monday, March 10, 2014. She was born February 11, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Wilbur and Dorothy Fanning who preceded her in death. Jean is survived by her daughters: Leslie Lundt, MD of Santa Barbara, CA and Linda (Tom) Keene of Cedar Lake, IN; nine grandchildren: Ashley Cotton, Lindsay Culhane, Clark Keene, Eric Keene, Michael Sheedy, Jackson Sheedy, Jennifer Lundt, Pierce Lundt and Blaine Lundt; five great grandchildren: Calista Cotton, Gage Culhane, Rylen Keene, Emerson Keene, and Taylor Borowy; two brothers: Robert Fanning and Thomas Fanning; and her beloved dog, Sam. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Alfred, in 2000; their only son, Clark, in 1970; brothers: Donald and Wilbur Fanning; and sister, Joan Granger. Jean retired from Marshall Field and Company where she was a department manager in Park Forest, IL and Orland Park, IL. After retiring from Marshall Fields, she opened up her own interior design shop, "The Department of the Interior", where she pursued her love of decorating and creating beautiful interiors for her many clients. Jean will always be remembered for being a good friend to the many people she met in her life. She will truly be missed by all who knew her and loved her. In keeping with the wishes of Jean, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
