BEULAH M. FERGUSON DEMOTTE, IN Beulah M. Ferguson, 95, of Demotte and formerly of Wheatfield, IN passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Autumn Hills Health and Rehab Center of Demotte, IN. Beulah was born April 27, 1918, in Murphysboro, IL to Thomas M. Richards and Camilla (Schmeyller) Richards. Before retiring, she had worked in the janitorial department at the Kankakee Valley High School for 21 years. Mrs. Ferguson had attended the Parr Baptist Church in Rensselaer, IN. As a pastor's wife, she gave mission talks on Native Americans to the neighboring churches. She also liked to sew. Beulah married Rev. Charles Ferguson on September 9, 1945 in Murphysboro, IL. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2008. She is survived by three children: Janet Chancy of Roselawn, IN, Charles (Theresa) Ferguson of Demotte, IN, and Cheryl (Amin) Ahmed of Oxford, AL; seven grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one brother, Homer (Ruth Ann) Richards of Murphysboro; and two sisters Elsie (Tom) DeVardo of Marion and Shirley (Marvin) Oetjen of Carterville. Preceded in death by son-in-law, Larry Chancy; grandson Keith Chancy; two brothers: Bob Richards and Thomas Richards; Jr.; and sister, Ruby Fenton. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014 at Pettett Funeral Home, Murphysboro, IL with burial at Pleasant Grove Memorial Park.
