IRENE MARTHA ZIOL RICHMOND HILL, GA
Irene Martha Ziol, age 97, of Richmond Hill, GA passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 after a short illness. She was born in Gary, IN on April 24, 1916 to Frank Peda and Eleanor Grunwald Peda. She was a graduate of Froebel High School. Irene had lived with her daughter in Georgia since 2003. While there, she was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women, Christian Social Services and the local soup kitchen. Irene is survived by her daughter, Bernadine (Gilbert) Robinson; four grandchildren: Heather (Donald) Robinson Tucker of Tullahoma, TN, Aleece (Reese) Robinson Browher of Rincon, GA, Kathleen (Richard) Ziol Guest of New York, NY, and Ronald Ziol of Demotte, IN; five grandchildren: Colten, Cayden and Colby Tucker and Ella and Ava Browher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ziol; son, Ronald Ziol; two brothers: Edmund and Raymond Peda; and sister, Loretta Nozrick. During her residency in Indiana, Irene was the Financial Secretary of PRCUA, Holy Trinity #337 for 30 years, was a National Past Director of the Polish Roman Catholic Union, American Legion Auxiliary Unit 207, Queen of Peace #815 PWA, Daughters of Isabella Bishop Noll Circle, Silver Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Orchard Lake Alumni Association, and the St. Anthony Benevolent Society. A Mass of Christian Burial was said in Georgia. She will be laid to rest Tuesday, April 22, 2014 next to her husband, Joseph. Family and friends may meet at the Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 6360 Broadway, Merrillville at 11:00 a.m., then proceed to Calumet Park for graveside services at 11:30 a.m. with Rev.
