DONALD OLIVER CRIZER JR. PORTAGE, IN Donald Oliver Crizer Jr., age 67, of Portage, IN passed away suddenly in Valparaiso on Sunday, May 4, 2014. He was born on June 12, 1946 in Gary, IN to Donald and Alice (Sampson) Crizer Sr., who preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife Elaine (Crawford) Crizer of Valparaiso; daughter, Celeste Crizer of Milwaukee; sons, Matthew (Fiancé, Lindsey Gibson) Crizer of Portage, Grant Crizer of Valparaiso; sister, Sue (Dan) Shook; brother, Gregory Crizer; grandchildren, Hunter and Logan, many nieces and nephews and special friends, John and Sue Cowsert of Valparaiso. Donald graduated from Portage High School in 1964. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the 1st Air Cavalry, a member of the American Legion Post 260 and lifetime member of the V.V.A. Post 905. Donald lived an honorable life. He was a warrior for his country, his beliefs and was a proud patriot. We have lost one good Conservative. Donald retired from Sargent Electric in 2006, after 43 years as an IBEW 697 Electrician, where he was known as "DOC." In his free time he enjoyed his travels to Arizona and Scotland. Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 9, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 6941 Central Avenue, Portage IN., 46368, with Pastor Deb Rousselle officiating. Memorial Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until time of services at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
