GUSTAV GILBERT BRUMM LANSING / CROWN POINT/ WALKERTON
Gus Brumm, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 1, 2014. He was born in Lansing, IL to Fannie and Gilbert Brumm on November 2, 1926. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Mary Alice Brumm; his parents; and sisters: Eleanor Kahl and Jane Thonesen. He is survived by his daughter: Sharon Power of Crown Point, IN; and his two sons: Wayne (Diane) Brumm of Valparaiso, IN and Garry (Anne) Brumm of Crown Point, IN. He had eight grandchildren: Danielle (Bill) Helfrich, Abbey (Brad) Bennett, Joshua (Tissha) Brumm, Kyle (Liz) Brumm, Keaton (Wade) Burk, Shane (Adriane) Power, Jordan Brumm, and Zach (Brooke) Brumm, along with fifteen great grandchildren. Also survived by his brothers: Robert Brumm, Raymond Brumm and Donald Brumm. Gus served in World War II prior to being employed with Vierk Water and Beverage Co., Stroh's Transportation, and Ag Spectrum Company. Gus was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Merrillville, Indiana and a member of the American Shetland Pony Club. Gus and his wife, Mary, retired to a lake home on Koontz Lake. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events along with attending pony shows. His pony, Hollywood Dazzle, was World Champion Pleasure Driving Pony ten consecutive years. Gus was a man of God, who was totally devoted to his wife and family. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN at 10:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Moe officiating. Interment will take place at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Donations may be made to World Hunger through Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 6795 Broadway, Merrillville, IN 46410.
