BILLY W. TRAVIS CROWN POINT, IN
Billy W. Travis, age 79, Crown Point, IN, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at St. Anthony Medical Center. Billy is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Gary Lee (Eva) Travis of Odessa, TX; brother, Bobby (Gayle) Travis of Princeton, KY; four sisters: Beverly Bell, Dora Jones, Sarah Nelson and Peggy Wynn all of the Princeton, KY area; brother-in-law, Bill (Joan) Holcomb; nieces and nephews: Bill (Donna) Holcomb, Nancy Holcomb-Saavedra, Laura (Jeff) Hubinger, and Mike (Laurie) Holcomb; great-niece and nephews: Emma, Jahn & Carter Holcomb and many other great-nieces & nephews.; close friends, Todd (Debbie) Kabella; special companion, Katie. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Travis. Billy proudly served in the U.S. Army and retired from U.S. Steel Gary Works Rail Mill. After retiring from U.S. Steel, Billy worked as a HVAC repairman. He was a Past Worshipful Master of Lake Lodge #157 F.&A.M. and a member of O.E.S. Billy was active in singing in the Crown Point Gospel Fest and other musical programs and venues. He was a member of Adventure Christian Church in Crown Point. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St., Crown Point, IN 46307 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. A Masonic Service will be held Monday evening at 7:00 PM, followed by an O.E.S. Service. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre in Crown Point, IN at 11:00 AM with John Starr officiating. Interment will take place at City of Crown Point Historic Maplewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Adventure Christian Church.
