RICHARD HUMPHREY MUNSTER, IN Richard Bryant Humphrey, age 88, of Munster, IN passed away on July 5th, 2014. He was born November 11, 1925 to VG and Edith Humphrey. He attended Hammond High and graduated from Drake University. Richard served in WWII and received a purple heart in 1946. He was an Orak Shriner, member of the Chamber of Commerce and also was involved in the Kiwanas Organization. For over 60 years he was a member of the American Legion. He worked as a manager for Northern Indiana Public Service Company for thirty-five years. Survivors include his wife, Joy (Mapes) Humphrey of Munster; his two daughters: Pam, married to Art Malancuk, residing in Overland Park, Kansas and Tricia, married to Larry Krueger, residing in Winnetka, IL. Richard's granddaughters are: Whitney (Malancuk) Trowbridge, Meredith Malancuk, Alexandra Krueger, Lauren Krueger and Olivia Krueger. He also has two great-grandaugthers. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Burns Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet Avenue, Munster, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m. with burial following at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville. Donations may be made to Harbor Light Hospice at 1841 East Summit Street, Crown Point, Indiana 46307 He will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends.
