ANNA T. HUTSKO (nee SETLAK) WHITING, IN Anna T. Hutsko (nee Setlak) 82, of Whiting passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 10, 2014. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael "Mickey" Hutsko who passed away September 21, 2002; loving mother of Sharon (Vince) Shimala of Crown Point, Donna (Dr. Benjamin) Tang of Ogden Dunes and Michael (Jennifer) Hutsko of Naperville; adoring grandmother of Craig and Kristen Shimala, Lucas Tang, Ethan and Alexa Hutsko; cherished sister of Raymond (late Janet) Setlak and Margaret (Joseph) Wojtonik and the late Angeline Palilunas, Frank Setlak, Cecilia Mockus, Josephine Wachtor and Dorothy King; special nephew, Frank Wojciaczyk; many dear nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014, 9:30AM at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; Funeral Liturgy at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. Basil Hutsko, officiating; interment, St. Nicholas Cemetery, Hammond; visitation at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00PM; Parastas Service at the funeral home on Sunday at 3:00PM. Anna Hutsko was born on January 18, 1932 in the Hegewisch Neighborhood of Chicago to Joseph and Mary (Lorek) Setlak and was a longtime resident of the Whiting-Robertsdale Community. She was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, Whiting; the Martha and Mary Prayer Group (prayers Sunday at 2:15pm) and the Greek Catholic Union. Anna loved her home, her town and her many friends. She enjoyed crocheting, baking and making pierogi. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Anna will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
