WILFRED J. HOERNIG DYER, IN Wilfred J. Hoernig, age 86, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home in Dyer. Mr. Hoernig was born June 22, 1928 to the late Martin Frank and Helen J. (Rietman) Hoerning. He is survived by his children: Lynne (Bill) Zimmer and Glenn (Debbie) Hoernig; grandchildren: Kelly (Andrew) Byrne, Matthew (Kristen) Burton, Alan (Kasey) Burton, great grandchildren Bailey Gilmore and Kennedy Burton. Also surviving are his siblings: Harold (Virginia) Hoernig, Martin (Dorothy) Hoernig, Thomas (Roberta) Hoernig, Eve Marie (James) Kurtzer, Helen (Dexter) Williams, and Eleanor (Gerald) Betts. Mr. Hoernig was preceded in death by his brothers: Jerome, Eddie, and Robert. After selflessly serving in the United States Army during World War II, he worked as a Quality Tech for Admiral TV Corp. He then became the owner and operator of Bill's Evergreens Cut Your Own Christmas Trees in Dyer.
