STEVE J. ARGES HIGHLAND, IN Steve J. Arges, 88, of Highland IN, passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Steve was born in Tripolis, Greece, to the late Vasiliki and Dimitrios Arges (Argyropoulos). He leaves behind his darling wife Helene whom he was blessed to spend 67 years together. Loving father to Betty (Gus) Voukidis, George (Pat) Arges, Demetria (George) Bakris, and son Peter who who preceded him in death. Proud grandfather to Marika (Rick) Brooks, George (Jenny) Voukidis, Steve Voukidis, Athena Bakris, Louis Bakris, Christopher (Hiral) Arges, Jason Arges, Joe Merryweather (Sarah) and Dan Merryweather; and great- grandfather to Phoenix & Alanna Voukidis, Eleanor Brooks, and Jack Merryweather Dear brother to Christos (Ismini) and Gus (Dimitria) Arges. Beloved by many nieces and nephews as well as friends. Veteran of World War II Army Air Corps. Retired from Inland Steel after 42 years. Steve was a member of the Pan-Arcadian Federation, AHEPA and served on the board of St. Demetrios and St George Greek Orthodox Church. Visitation will be held at Burns Kish Funeral Home located at 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster, In. from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday July 23, 2014. Trisagon Service at 7p.m. Funeral on Thursday,July 24th at 10 a.m. at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 528 W. 77th Ave. Schererville, IN, the Rev. Constantine Aliferakis officiating. Burial Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Memorial donations can be made to St. George Greek Orothodox. He was loved and will be missed by many.
