EVELYN PEARL WANATAH, IN Evelyn Pearl, 58, of Wanatah passed away Monday, August 4, 2014. She was born February 6, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Kenneth & Doshia Mae (Young) Smith and graduated from Thornridge High School. Evelyn had worked as a cashier at the A & P in Dolton, IL, WiseWay Foods in Hobart and finally at Wal-Mart in Merrillville. On August 2, 1974 she married Stephen G. Pearl who survives along with their sons: Randall (Theresa) Pearl of Wheatfield, Scott Pearl of Valparaiso, granddaughters: Allison & Maegan Pearl, father, Kenneth (Judy) Smith of Sheldon, IL, sister, Wilma Fugate, and brother, Carl Smith. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doshia Smith. A visitation will take place Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Wanatah Funeral Chapel, 309 N. Main St., Wanatah with cremation to follow at Angelcrest Crematory.
