Edgar L. Peglow, age 84 of Munster passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2009. He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor (nee Minas); children: Pamela (Thomas) Daniels, Timothy (Debra) Peglow and Sheree Peglow, MD; grandchildren: Brian, David (fiancee, Courtney Mambourg) and Katherine Daniels; one sister, Sylvia Holmes; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sister, Ada Hessler. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 8, 2009 from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at the Burns- Kish Funeral Home, 8415 Calumet, Munster, IN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at ST. Paul's Lutheran Church, Munster, IN. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Edgar graduated from Hammond High School in 1942 and Indiana University in 1950 with a B.A. Degree and a Chemistry Degree. He was a WWII Navy veteran. He was the former president of Edward C. Minas Co. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and of the Hammond Downtown Council. He was president of the Hammond Rotary and of Goodwill Industries. Edgar was on the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross, Hoosier State Bank and the Hammond Chamber of Commerce. He was an active member of Sigma Chi Alumni Assoc. and in Water Fowl, USA. He also volunteered at Community Hospital and Taltree Arboretum and Gardens.
