Edward J. Moss, age 86, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2010. A devoted family man, loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather, Edward is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy (Totzke); three children: Barry of Calumet City, Susan (Richard) Yager of Chicago and Janice (Dan) Michalski of Lansing; grandchildren: Kimberly Moss and Victoria Michalski; four sisters: Emily (late Peter) Follmer, Cecelia (late Frank) Sperka, Irene (Robert) Vesolowski and Judy (Richard) Sikora; brother, Raymond (Betty) Moss; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: John and Cecelia Muschelewicz; siblings: Gertrude (Anthony) Wasik, Paul (Sophie) Muschelewicz, John (Eleanore) Muschelewicz, Albert Muschelewicz, Joseph (Mary Ann) Muschelewicz and Helen (Paul) Skurka. Edward served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He retired from Liquid Carbonic of General Dynamics. Ed resumed bowling at the age of 67 and was also involved in many senior activities and luncheon groups. He was a lifelong member of St. Andrew the Apostle Church, Knights of Columbus Coronata Council and American Legion Post #330 (Post Everlast Service 7:00 p.m.). He was also a member of St. Andrew's Sunshine Club. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, 400 Pulaski Road, Calumet City, IL to St. Andrew the Apostle Church for an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. For information, call (708) 862-5454.
