ROBERT JAMES DOYLE "BOBBY" SCHERERVILLE, IN FORMERLY OF GARY/MILLER BEACH Robert James Doyle, "Bobby" age 81, of Schererville, formerly of Gary/Miller Beach, IN, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2011. He was a husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be missed by many. He was a founding member and officer of the Friendly Sons of Erin, a member of Cerebral Palsy of NW Indiana, and his favorite passion the "Hunky Hollow Athletic Club". He was a longtime season ticket holder and loyal fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago White Sox and the University of Notre Dame. Bob was a two-sport letterman at St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, IN. He was a member of St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Miller. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Doyle; his parents: John and Frances Doyle; brother, Jack Doyle, and great-grandchild, Jacob Alexander Hellman. He is survived by his wife, Jill M. Doyle; children, Kathy (Steve) Henke of Carmel, IN, Michael (Amy) Doyle of Littleton, CO and James Doyle of Gary, IN; five grandchildren: Jennifer Hellman, Michael Doyle, Brian Doyle, Betsy Henke and Brad Henke. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 2:00 -7:00 p.m. at Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point, with Rev. Patrick Kalich officiating. Interment at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cerebral Palsy of NW Indiana, The , or Andrean High School Athletic Association.
