JANET IRENE LAPINA ESCONDIDO, CA Janet Irene Lapina went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2011. Janet was born March 25, 1933 in Petersburg, VA to Clinton and Helen Long. She was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Janet was married to Pete Lapina and had eight children. She resided in Escondido, CA and attended Oasis Church. She loved to travel with her business and made wonderful friends along her way. Janet is survived by five sons and three daughters: Clint (Judy) Lapina of Littleton, CO, Jeanette (Stan) Wojcik of Griffith, Debi (John) Rice of Crown Point, Eddie (Jamie) Lapina of St. John, David (Melinda) Lapina of Lakeland, FL, Pete (Beth) Lapina of Chattanooga, TN, Donna (Scott) Dyer of Lowell, and Dan (Sherrie) Lapina of Orlando, FL; 18 grandchildren: Tony (Sarah) Lapina, Andrea Lapina, Angie (Todd) Hampton, Allen Wojcik, Michael Wojcik, Janet Wojcik, Ben Rice, Adam (Elizabeth) Rice, Jeremy (Karen) Rice, Jason Rice, Stacy (Dan) Harrell, Matt (Deidre) Lapina, Joshua Lapina, Austin Lapina, Cory Dyer, Ashlee Dyer, Hallie Lapina, and Jake Lapina; six great grandchildren: Carson Hampton, Jadd Hampton, Avery Hampton, Elijah Rice, Isaac Rice, and Ellie Harrell. Preceded in death by husband, Peter Paul Lapina, Jr.; parents: Clinton and Helen Long; and brother, Robert Long. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Memory Lane Funeral Chapel, 6305 West Lincoln Highway, Crown Point, IN 46307 with Dr. Eddie Lapina, Pastor Jack Schaap, and Dr. Johnny Colsten officiating. Friends may visit with family Friday, April 8, 2011 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Memory Lane Funeral Chapel.
