DR. JAMES G. CZECHANSKI, PhD ARLINGTON, VA / WHITING, IN Dr. James G. Czechanski, PhD, 51, of Arlington, VA, formerly of Whiting, passed away suddenly on November 7, 2011 at his residence. He was the beloved son of the late Frank and Josephine (Poremba) Czechanski; loving brother of Janet Kompier and Frank (Laura) Czechanski both of Whiting and John Czechanski of France; cherished uncle of Jill (Jim) Knight, Michelle Kompier and Nicole (Jeff) Bateman. A Memorial Mass will be offered on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th St., and Lincoln Ave., Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating. Jim Czechanski was born on February 5, 1960 and grew up in the Whiting-Robertsdale Community. He was an alumni of St. John School and George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1978. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, a Master of Science Degree from the American University along with his PhD in Physics.
