WALTER K. CUNNINGHAM SLIDELL, LA FORMERLY OF EAST CHICAGO, IN Walter K. Cunningham of Slidell, LA went to play keyboard and vocalize with the angels on Saturday, July 7, 2012. He was born on October 12, 1947 in East Chicago, IN. Walter was an accomplished musician playing keyboard and doing vocals with many well known entertainers in Las Vegas, New Orleans, and Europe. He was Musical Director for Tony Tillman, played for the Earl Turner Show, and Deacon John. He opened for Bill Cosby, Don Rickles, Phyllis Diller, and countless other headlines and celebrities. Walter leaves to mourn and cherish his loving memories: wife, Guylaine Cunningham; two sons: Nathan Cunningham and Brandon Cunningham; mother, Thirlie Cunningham; three brothers: Rev. Doctor Wayne Cunningham (Imogene), Douglas Cunningham (Rob), and Elliott Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter K. Cunningham, Sr. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend his Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hartzell Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 41040 Highway 190 East, Slidell, LA 70461.
