FRANK A. BECK CROWN POINT, IN Frank A. Beck, age 74, of Crown Point, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Frank was born and raised in Harvey IL. He attended Thornton Township High School. Frank married the love of his life, Tina Guaccio, in April of 1960. In 1969, he moved his family to Crown Point where he fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning his own bakery. He bought Petrey's Crown Bakery and renamed it Beck's Crown Bakery, which still carries on the family name though his daughter and son-in-law, Nadine and Craig Streicher. His lifelong accomplishments include owning his own bakery, which during the early 70's, supplied many area grocery stores' in-store bakeries. He also supplied Chicago area restaurants with desserts and pastries. As one of the chairmen of the Crown Point Chamber Festival Day Committee, he contributed many hours and supplies to make the festival days come to life back in 1976. The bakery used to be the host of the original Rib Roast, using Tina's famous Peach Barbecue sauce. The ribs where cooked on a fire pit set up right in front of the bakery with all the other fixings being prepped and baked inside the bakery. Frank was a former member of First Christian Church where he also spent many hours cooking and baking for fellowship dinners.
