JOSEPH A. DADO WHITING, IN Joseph A. Dado, 81 of Whiting, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 21, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Betty (nee Harp); loving father of Marty (Paula) of Whiting, Joseph (Patrice) of South Bend, Sue (Gary) Lalin of Las Vegas, NV, Rosie (Bruce) Topping of Plymouth, IN, Paula Franiak of Woodland Hills, CA and Beth (Jim) Kasper of Crown Point; cherished grandfather of Neil, Samuel, Nicholas, Martin, Matthew, Joshua Dado, Gina (Mat) Hytinen, Jennifer Dado, Kristina (fiancée Benedict Swager) Dado, Sean Lalin, Ashley, Joseph and Bradley Franiak, Daniel and Ryan Kasper and the late Gregory Novak; adoring great grandpa of Jeremy and Brianna Novak, Emma Dado, Daphne and Reid Hytinen; dearest brother of Frances (late Joseph) Hritz and the late Andrew Dado, Martin Dado, Anne Baranowski, Emily Kontol, and Mary Steinhilber; dear brother-in-law of Marie Dado; proud uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating; cremation to follow. Visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to time of services. Joe Dado was born on February 2, 1931 in Whiting, Indiana to Martin and Mary (Segan) Dado and was a lifelong resident. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church, Whiting and a graduate of Whiting High School, Class of 1949. He was a life member of the American Slovak Club and was a retiree of Meade Electric with over 20 years of service. Joe was a loyal Chicago Cubs fan and an avid bowler.
