DR. JANET HUETTNER PORTAGE, IN Dr. Janet Huettner, PhD, age 73 of Portage, passed away October 25, 2012. Janet was a graduate of Lew Wallace High School, Class of 1957. She was a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington and later received her Masters and PhD from Purdue University. She taught a Civil Rights Class at IUPUI in Indianapolis and was a philanthropist for IUPUI. She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl K. Huettner and Doris Marie Huettner; and brother, Thomas Huettner. Dr. Huettner is survived by her brother, Lawrence "Leroy" (Deborah, nee Lawson) Huettner, Sr. of Portage; nieces and nephews: Laurie Kay Mayes, Lawrence "Sonny" Huettner, Jr., Margeaux Challenger and Hunter Lawson-Lloyd; several great nieces and nephews, and cousins; and uncle, Richard Miller of Demotte.
