STEPHEN RICHARD GORMLEY WHITING, IN Stephen Richard Gormley, 34, of Whiting passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at his residence. He was the beloved son of Stephen and Nancy (Kurella) Gormley of Whiting; loving brother of David (Traci) Gormley of Whiting and Cpt. Thomas Gormley, USAF, of Panama City, FL; cherished uncle of David, Ethan and Eva Gormley; dearest grandson of Florence (late Albert) Kurella and Richard (late Marie) Gormley; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends; devoted canine companion, "Cassius". Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 4:00pm at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting with the Rev. Kevin Scalf, C.PP.S., of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to time of services. Stephen was born on October 30, 1978 and was a lifelong resident of Whiting. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting and was a graduate of George Rogers Clark High School, Class of 1996. Stephen had many talents, but particularly enjoyed growing bonsai trees, gardening and music. He enjoyed nature and was a great animal lover. Devoted to his family, Stephen will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Humane Society, would be appreciated. (219) 659-4400.
