Omega Davis "Pat", a resident of Gary, Indiana for 71 years, formerly of McDonald, NC, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012. She was a former member of the National Council of Negro Women, Friends of the Library, and a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church. Pat was a 1948 graduate of Gary Roosevelt High School and attended Indiana University Northwest. She was preceded in death by her father, Raeford Thompson; mother, Mary Thompson; husband, Verdell Davis, Sr.; stepmother, Juanita Ward Thompson; brother Delious Thompson; sister, Ida M. Cutchin; son, Jerome Davis; daughter, Constance Davis; daughter-in-law, Diane Davis; grandson, Allen Victorian and granddaughter, Utopia Ware. Pat is survived by sons: Verdell Davis, Tyrone Davis, and Brian (Angela) Davis; daughters: Carmen Ware, Donna (Squire) Dixon, Candis (Roger) Cummings, and Pamela (Kenneth) Stalling; sisters: Aggenora McDaniel Sumrall, Marilyn McGee, Vanessa Thompson, Raenita Thompson; and brother, Loran Thompson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren; and a host of loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, 1831 Virginia Street, Gary, IN with Pastor Dwight A. Gardner, officiating. Visitation/wake will be Monday, November 12, 2012 (family hour, 6:00-7:00 p.m.) at Smith, Bizzell and Warner Funeral Home, 4209 Grant Street, Gary, IN.
