FIORI PROCISSI WHITING, IN/ SOUTH CHICAGO, IL
Fiori Procissi, 92, of Whiting, passed away Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Care Center at Hartsfield Village, Munster. He was the beloved husband of the late Gina (Pasquini) Procissi who passed away May 4, 1983; loving father of Mary Burke and Thomas (Jacqueline) Procissi both of Whiting; cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Burke, Amy Procissi, Tiffany (Sergio) Serrano and Gina Procissi; adoring great grandpa of Thomas Rodriguez; dearest brother of Lucy (Guiliano) Celoni of Lucca, Italy; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting with the Rev. John E. Kalicky, C.PP.S., officiating. Interment, Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Alsip, IL. Visitation at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Parish wake service at the funeral home on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. Fiori Procissi was born on December 14, 1919 in Lucca, Italy to Giovanni and Maria Procissi and was a resident of the Chicago/Calumet Region for the past 70 years. He was a graduate of Bowen High School, Chicago, Class of 1939 and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting. Fiori was a WWII Army veteran and had served in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the VFW Walter Kleiber Post 2724 (memorial service Thursday 7:00 p.m.). He was the owner and operator of the Procissi Grocery of South Chicago for many years. Devoted to his family, Fiori will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
