JOHN WALTER WACNIK CROWN POINT, IN John Walter Wacnik, age 72, of Crown Point, formerly of Highland and Sarasota, FL, passed away on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. John was a graduate of Mendel Catholic High School, Class of 1958 and Ohio State University. He was a member and Training Instructor for Sheet Metal Union Local 20; was a Certified Welding Inspector; and a member of PAL-Political Action League. His jobs included, Jr. Toy; Union Tank; Gravers; Woodmar Welding; the Sheet Metal Workers, Local 20 and the National Training Fund. John was preceded in death by his parents: Bernice and Joseph Wacnik. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Wacnik; his daughters: Justine W. (Roger B.) Ward and Jacquelyn Wacnik; and son, Brian Wacnik. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation Church, 8303 Taft Street, Merrillville, IN with Rev. Peter Muha officiating. www.burnsfuneral.com
