Yale A. Bailey, age 95 of Highland, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013. Yale is survived by his daughters: Debra Bailey of East Chicago, Amy Bailey of Highland and Jacqueline Horsley of Highland; sons: Edward (Carolyn) Bailey of Highland and Yale (Judith) Bailey of Highland; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Katherine; and son, Harry. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Thomas More Church, Munster. Yale will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of mass. At rest, Mt. Mercy Cemetery, Gary. Friends may visit with the family on Monday February 11, 2013 from 5:00- 8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy) Scherer- ville. Yale proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, during WWII. He worked for Amoco and retired with 35+ years of service. Yale had an unwavering faith, was a longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Parish and current member of St. Thomas More. He was affectionately known as the "Candy Man", always having a piece of hard candy to pass out. Yale will be dearly missed.
