Stanley P. Zarowny, age 89 of Hammond, IN passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013. He is survived by one son, Paul (Marilyn) Zarowny; three daughters: Kathryn (Chuck) Dotson, Laura (Paul) Gerrity, and Deborah Dijak; four grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Janovsky, Tiffany Zarowny, Justin Dijak, and Christian Dijak; one great-grandson, Preston Janovsky; one sister, Wanda (late Edwin) Rapacz; one brother, Chester (Toni) Zarowny; sister in law; Viola (late John) Templin; many nieces and nephews, and wonderful neighbors: Lillian and Howard. Preceded in death by his wife, Marian; parents: Peter and Magdalena; granddaughter, Noelle; sisters: Jean (late John) Jamrose and Corinne (late Phillip) Klekot. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 11, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Anthony & Dziadowicz Funeral Home, 4404 Cameron Avenue, Hammond (two blocks east of Hohman, one block north of Gostlin) for 12:30 p.m. Mass at St. Casimir Church with Rev. William O'Toole officiating. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL. Visitation on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Zarowny was a lifelong Hammond resident. He was a retired employee of Amoco with 39 years of service. Stanley was a 1942 graduate of Hammond Tech where he was a quarterback on the football team and Senior class president. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII, a member of the American Legion Calumet Post 330 (services Sunday 7:00 p.m.), and the St. Casimir Seniors (services Sunday 3:00 p.m.). Stanley was a football coach at St. Casimir School for many years, and was an avid Notre Dame and Chicago Bears fan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to would be appreciated.
