Dominic Vicari, Jr., age 82, of Crown Point, IN passed away surrounded by his family and loving granddaughter, Dr. Erin Vicari, on Monday, July 29, 2013 at St. Anthony Medical Center. Dominic is survived by his wife, Nancy, of 61 years; nine children: David (Patti), Michael, Susan (Tony) Zdanowicz, Anne Marie (Walter) Diambri, Jonathan (Christine), Lisa (Michael) Zdanowicz, Patricia (Jack) Lewis, Andrew Paul (Anne), and Daniel (Sarah); 23 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; brother, Donald (Judy) Vicari; nieces and nephews; and a large extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Dominic Vicari and Marie Bajac Vicari; brother, Tony; and sister, Marie Suchecki. Dominic was a 55 year member of the I.B.E.W. Local 697 and retired from Meade Electric as Area Superintendent with over 42 years of service. He was a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology. Dominic enjoyed fishing with his family, bird watching as well as working on his wooded property, music, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Primarily and foremost he was a proud and dedicated family man. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Geisen Funeral-Cremation & Reception Centre (two blocks East of Broadway) at 606 E. 113th Ave./E. South Street, Crown Point, IN from 2:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday, August 2, 2013 directly at St. Mary Catholic Church from 10:30 to 11:00 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 321 E. Joliet St., Crown Point, IN with Fr. Pat Kalich officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to follow. Memorial donations may be given in Dominic's memory to the Crown Point Community Foundation.
