PATRICK SCANLON HIGHLAND, IN
Patrick Scanlon, age 79, of Highland passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley (nee Wagman); children: Kevin (Roni) Scanlon, Nora (Brad) Shaw, and Teresa (Bill) Massoels; grandchildren: Patrick, Samantha, and Megan Massoels, Madeline Shaw, and Kevin Scanlon; sister, Kathleen Scanlon IBVM; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents: Jim and Nell; and brothers: Jim, Kevin, and Bill. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 at 10:30 AM DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3025 Highway Ave., Highland with Fr. Edward J. Moszur officiating. Patrick will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday August 11, 2013 from 2:00-6:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy), Schererville. Patrick proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired from AT&T after 37 years. He was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Grace Church, and spent countless hours volunteering and worked to remodel the school. Patrick was a blood donor at Heartland for many years. He was a devoted family man and will be dearly missed by his loving family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Grace School and/or Bishop Noll. solanpruzinfuneralhome.com
