Robert Bob Franklin Kraus, age 78, of Crown Point, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Reba; daughter, Rhonda (Todd) Coffin; granddaughter, Emily Coffin; brother, Charles Albert (Jane) Kraus; sisters-in-law and brothers- in-law; many nieces and nephews; and many dear and loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles Joseph and Alberta Louise (Shumacher) Kraus. Bob was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Crown Point. He served his country for four years in the U.S. Navy. Bob worked in the medical profession for almost 40 years. The last 27 years as a certified cardio-pulmonary by-pass technician. He had the honor and privilege of working for cardiovascular surgeons known as the S-T-P Heart Team who were involved in the commencement of open heart surgery at several of the local hospitals. During the course of his lifetime, he enjoyed woodworking, bowling, singing, playing cards, reading, achieving, and his family. He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by those who loved him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre, 606 E. 113th Ave./South St. (two blocks east of Broadway), Crown Point, from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 218 South Court Street, Crown Point, IN with prior visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Pastor David Wood officiating. Interment at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, IN on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 11:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time).
