EVA A. BENCUR HAMMOND, IN Eva A. Bencur, 92, of Hammond, passed away Monday August 19, 2013. She is survived by her daughters: Cheryl (Lawrence) Maka of Munster and Diana (Donald) Bell of Eden Prairie, MN; grandchildren: Deborah Maka of FL, Christopher (Molly) Maka of WI, Andrew Bell, of MN; Aryn Bell, of MN; great grandson, Henry John Francis; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, John Bencur; brothers: Adam (Dorothy), Richard and Arthur (Helen) Klaus; sister, Elenora Overkleef; and parents: Edmund and Olga Klaus. Eva worked at Pullman Standard during WWII while John served overseas, and later worked at Richters Greenhouse through the 1960s. She was a semi-professional bowler for many years through the 2012-13 season. Eva was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be truly missed. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy), Scherer- ville with Deacon Raymond Helfen officiating. Private burial at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 25, 2013 from 3:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
