Patsy Joyce Ferrell, age 84, of Lowell passed away September 10, 2013 at Lowell Health Care Center. She was born January 6, 1929 in Kentucky to John Mitchel and Delia Steele. Patsy was married to James A. Ferrell, who preceded her in death on November 1, 1998. Patsy was a proud, 50 year member of the Griffith Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Patsy was also a Charter Member of the Women of the Moose Lodge, Chapter 1603 Cal Ridge, located in Schererville, IN. Patsy found joy in being a housewife and above all, loved spending time with her family. Patsy is survived by her daughter, Judy (Herschel) Florence of DeMotte; brother, Jerome (Jerry) Steele of Hobart; sister, Mary Humphrey of Lowell; sister-in-law, Wanda Steele; grandchildren; Gary (Lynn) Florence and Michelle Bishop both of DeMotte, Patty (Barry) Langley of Portage, Jason Ferrell of Highland, and Jessica Ferrell of Crown Point; 12 great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren. Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, and husband. Her son, Johney Ferrell, passed away July 7, 1977; and brother, Texal Steele. Friends may call on Friday, September 13, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte, IN. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation at Jackson Funeral Service in DeMotte with Pastor Doug Bolton officiating. As per Pasty's request, cremation will follow.
