Casimir "Dzia" Sielski, 92 of Merrillville, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013. He is survived by wife Agnes of 62 years; three children: Karen Blajsczak of Ohio, Anthony (Kathy) Sielski of Valparaiso, and Cassie (Dan) Stoica of Lake Station; nine grandchildren: Stephanie (Brad) Ashbrook, Kim (Dave) Blayney, Carrie (Ed) Keener, Joanna (Beau) Arnason, Brittney (Lance) Schmidt, Haley (Matt Bigelow) Stoica, Danny Stoica, Ben (Andrea) Sielski, and Allison Sielski; 11 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Theresa Sielski of Hobart; numerous nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Esther (late Paul) Weinberg of Crown Point; brother-in-law, John Bulot of Merrillville. Preceded in death by wife Stephanie; parents; and two brothers. Mr. Sielski was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and a member of Knights of Columbus Msgr. Joseph S. Ryder Council #4047. Casimir was a co-owner and retired pharmacist from Broadway Pharmacy at 17th and Broadway in Gary. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and spent all of his summers at Blindfold Lake in Canada where he passed on his love of fishing and hunting to his children and grandchildren. Family and friends may call at Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service (6360 Broadway, Merrillville) on Thursday from 2:00-8:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 2:30 P.M. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 20, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. from Pruzin Brothers Chapel and 10:00 A.M. from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church (200 E. 78th Ave., Merrillville) with Rev. Jon Plavcan officiating. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery. Dzia was the best father, husband, and grandfather anyone could have ever asked for.
