SHERRY L. NICKIAS (NEE HASSE) LANSING, IL Sherry L. Nickias (nee Hasse) age 46 of Lansing, IL. lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday, October 2, 2013. She passed peacefully at home. Sherry was born on April 4th, 1967 in Hammond, IN. She was a 1985 graduate of Thornton Fractional South high school and was employed at Podgorski and Associates in Lansing. Sherry coached many years with the Lansing Girls Softball organization. She enjoyed watching her kids play ball through the years and rarely missed a game. She always enjoyed traveling including camping with her family and motorcycle trips with her husband. Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends. Sherry had a big heart and was a friend to many. Sherry is survived by her husband of 25 years, James; sons: Kyle, and Kevin; and daughter, Allison all at home. Parents: Raymond and Patricia Hasse of Lansing; sisters: Cindy Hasse of Lansing, and Diane (Alan) Canny of Lansing; brother, Kenneth (Deanna) Hasse of Philcampbell, AL; nieces and nephews. A celebration of Sherry's life and open house will be held on Friday October 11, 2013 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Knights of Columbus hall, 17800 Lorenz Ave. Lansing, IL.
