Robert Liming Obituary
Robert "Bob" M. Liming, age 91, of Hammond entered into the gates of Heaven Saturday, October 5, 2013, as the result of a tragic accident. He is survived by one son, James (Linda) Liming; five grandchildren: Jim Liming, Donnie Liming, Tracy (Matt) Zander, Michael (Heather) Liming and Tim (Heather) Liming; 11 great grandchildren; one brother, Harold Liming; one sister, Helen VanScoyk; two sisters-in-law: Joyce and Barbara Liming; and numerous nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Lenora E. (Myers) Liming; son, Donald Liming; parents: John Carl and Mary Ethel Liming; two brothers: Lloyd "Bud" and Donald "Joe" Liming; and one sister, Mildred VanGorp. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Life Point Church, 7350 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Orlando Solar and Rev. Raymond Bocken officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and also Thursday morning from 9:30-10:00 a.m. at Life Point Church. Born and raised in Hammond, Bob was a 1939 graduate of Hammond Tech High School. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Force. Bob did concrete flatwork and was the owner of Robert Liming & Sons. He was a charter member of Life Point Church and was active in their Senior Ministry. Bob was faithful to his Lord, his church, and his family. He centered his life around his church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to Life Point Church. Dear Liming Family,
Mr. Liming poured our concrete driveway in 1992 and front stairs and sidewalk at our house in 1998. They both still look brand new! I am looking to have some concrete work done at my aunt's apartment building and was looking at the receipts just last week. What a kind and honest man your dad/grandfather was! I remember him having his grandson working with him and teaching him the trade. May God help you find comfort during this difficult time.

Jim, I want to extend my deepest sympthy to you and your family for the loss of your dad. I know your mother and brother were waiting for Bob at the Havenly gates. I have know your dad for many years and he was always the first to smile and was quick with a kind word. I marveled at his willinginess to keep working. He will be missed. May God bless and be with you and your family thru this sad time.
