MARJORIE A. GEER VALPARAISO, IN Marjorie A. “Marge” Geer, 76, of Valparaiso, was promoted to glory on Sunday, October 20, 2013 while surrounded by her family. She was born October 27, 1936 in Gary to Russell and Ruth Webster, and graduated from Beloit High School, in Beloit, WI. Marge graduated from The Salvation Army School For Officers Training and served as an officer in The Salvation Army for nearly 20 years. She enjoyed Bible study, reading, singing at nursing homes and took great pleasure in providing for unfortunate children through her work with Operation Christmas Child. On January 2, 1960 in Oak Park, IL, she married Thomas G. Geer who preceded her in death in 2007. Survivors include their children: Timothy (Patricia) Geer of Wanatah, Camie Marfoe (David Doelling) of Valparaiso, Jason (Sarah) Geer, of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Shelby and Lane Geer, Johnny, Lauren, and Ruthie Marfoe, and Jane Geer; sister, Kathleen (Harold Lloyd) Patterson; brother, Russell (Trish) Webster; sister-in-law, Ethel Geer; and many loving cousins and friends. Marge was also preceded in death by her parents. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Valparaiso 2205 N. Campbell St. Burial following at Angelcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
