Cathy Jo Tarry

CATHY JO TARRY PORTAGE, IN Cathy Jo Tarry, 55, of Portage passed away on January 6, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 12, 1958 in Gary, IN to David and Joan (Wronko) Bood. Cathy was a 1976 graduate of Hobart High School. She was then married to Jeff Tarry on October 30, 1976 at the Assumption Church in New Chicago, from this union came two loving children. Cathy was a floral designer for many years, and the proud owner of Periwinkles Floral Shoppe in Portage. She enjoyed crafts, flowers, traveling, boating, and spending time with her granddaughter. She was also the oldest of 11 children. Cathy is survived by her parents; David (Joan) Bood of Hobart; loving husband, Jeffery Tarry of Portage; children: Alisa (Greg) Compton of Tennessee and Aaron (Angie) Tarry of Portage; siblings: Ken (Abby) Bood of Hobart, Nick (Cassandra) Bood of Hobart, David Jr. (Brenda) Bood of Hobart, Kevin(Lisa) Bood of Mooresville, Jeff (Kim) Bood of Mt. Gilead, Mike Bood of Hobart, Tim Bood of Hobart, Karen (Steve) Osborne of Crown Point, Cheryl (Robert) Bartley of FL, and Lynn (Noel) Fuentes of Lowell; as well as granddaughter, Jordyn Jo Compton. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service, 2700 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN 46368. A funeral service for Cathy will be held on Tuesday January 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pruzin Brothers Funeral Service with Father Andrew Corona officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Memorials for Cathy may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements under the direction of Jason R. Frazier.
