Nicolas G. Arreguin

NICOLAS G. ARREGUIN VALPARAISO, IN Nicolas G. Arreguin, 84 of Valparaiso formerly of East Chicago, IN passed away on Monday, March 23, 2015 at Porter Regional Hospital, Valparaiso, IN. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Dolores (nee Hinostroza) and daughter, Maria Dolores (John) Szczepanski, grandson, Jonathan (Leanne) and great grandson, Spencer J. Szczepanski, sisters and brother all of Mexico: Lucina Martinez, Lola Martinez, Emelina Torres, Maria Arreguin and Agustin Arreguin; sister in law Ma. Guadalupe Arreguin and many nieces, nephews, family and friends throughout the Calumet area and in Mexico. Nico is preceded in death by his parents: Fidencio and Maria de La Luz Arreguin; brother, Salomon Arreguin and sister, Raquel (Augustin) Martinez. Nico was a retired employee of Inland Steel Co. with 33 years of service. He was a member of USW Local 1010 & St Teresa of Avila Catholic Church & was a former member of Assumption Church, Indiana Harbor. Funeral mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass all at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Student Center, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso, IN with Father Kevin P. McCarthy officiating. Following the funeral services, per his request, Mr. Arreguin will be transferred to his hometown in Mexico and burial services will be held at Panteon de San Jose del Cimental, Yuriria, GTO, Mexico.
