Nina Beckman Obituary

NINA D. BECKMAN LOGANVILLE, GA Nina D. Beckman (Griffiths) of Loganville, GA, formerly of Hobart passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at age 93. She was born January 29, 1922 in Hammond, IN to Raymond and Esma Griffiths and the sister to Robert Griffiths (deceased) and a twin to Betty Vinoski of Lake Stevens, WA. Predeceased by her husband, Fred Beckman and her son, Jack Reichert. Survived by her daughter, Betty (Reichert) Gawlik, Seneca, SC; stepchildren: Helen (Beckman) Hammond, Hobart, IN, Kathy (Beckman) Skogen, Minneapolis, MN, Mike Beckman, Valparaiso. She graduated from Hobart High School where she lettered in basketball. She worked for Northern Indiana Public Service Co. for 23 years as a billing customer service representative. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Hobart and Wheeler. An avid bridge player for forty years, her other passions included knitting, sewing, decorating and painting. She loved being outdoors in God's creation and gazing at the beauty around her. She was a loving Mother, devoted sister and loved children. A memorial will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, In. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the National Alzheimer's Association at Alz.org.
