Leann M. Potosky (nee McCarty) Knox, IN Leann M. Potosky (nee McCarty), 34, of Knox, IN, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2005 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend, IN. She is survived by her husband, Steve, who she married on June 7, 1997; mother, Florence McCarty of Hammond, IN; brother, Ronnie McCarty of Hammond, IN; maternal grandfather, Wilbur Green of Wisconsin; three half sisters; two half brothers; many nieces, nephews and great-nieces; mother-in-law, Kathy (late Gerald) Potosky of Hobart, IN; sister-in-law, Cindy Potosky of Phoenix, AZ; close friend, Susan Whiteford of South Bend, IN; and her Dalmatian, Hallie. Preceded in death by her father, Bobbie McCarty; maternal grandmother, Mildred Green; and paternal grandparents: Raymond and Celia McCarty. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN with Tom Reynolds officiating. Burial Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated. Leann was a lifetime resident of this area, a member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church of Hammond, IN and worked in the office at Sterk's, as a cage supervisor at Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, IN and worked in the office at Knox Fertilizer. She loved gardening, yard work and the outdoors. Leann was a collector of Lee Middleton Dolls, Disney Characters and Precious Moments. She battled cancer for 10 years and never complained.
